No one was prepared the volume of people
This year, which should have been a major comeback since COVID, was actually the worst year ever at F1 Aramaco/COTA. The lack of coordination and preparation clearly showed when everyone showed up. They sold out on all the tickets months in advance but were nowhere prepared for the 350k+ audience. Overall, parking at F1 Aramaco/COTA was not worth the long waits to get in and then even worse to get out. Parking was terrible in all aspects. The vendors were running out of food, water, ice, and basic items. The lines for all the vendors were extremely long. It took 45 minutes or longer just to order a cold meal with a warm drink and no ice. The heat was unbearable at times. There were not enough shaded locations to eat comfortably. You had to make your table on the ground. Finding a water bottle felt like going on a scavenger hunt and winning the lottery when a vendor still had some left. Most vendors didn’t have napkins or plastic ware, so you had to eat with your hands for many items. The music talent selected to represent F1 was horrific and out of touch with current times. I am surprised anyone even stayed for the concerts. I have been coming to F1 for many years, and this experience makes me rethink coming back next year with my family.
Erykah & Raphael Were Disappointing
Chuck Brown, as usual, turned the show out. He could teach a thing or two to these young acts.
Rhiannon Giddens' set was too short. She was awesome as usual, but I would have preferred to see her perform longer.
I thought that her performance was the most disappointing. Considering that Rhiannon was the headliner.
Raphael Sadiq was disappointing because he played a lot of songs that the audience was not familiar with.
Maybe they were from her last CD, which was terrible. Rhiannon Giddens sang quite a few songs that the audience has never heard before.
Chrisette Michelle's show seemed disjointed and disorganized. She did not perform a lot of her hit songs, e.g. Tyrone.
Maybe she gives a better performance at a more intimate venue. I don't think that I would ever pay to hear her sing at a large festival again.
His medley of Tony, Toni, Tone songs was too brief. He should have opened the show up with a familiar, upbeat song, e.g., "It Feels Good" and then eased into some of his new material.
